As Chief Operations Officer at WoodSyn, Ben drives the company’s daily operations, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, streamline productivity, and align organizational goals with the overarching business vision. He collaborates closely with the executive team to ensure WoodSyn’s operations meet the demands of a growing market in sustainable construction materials.
Ben brings extensive experience in operations, program management, and strategy execution, with a track record of delivering transformative results for organizations across the globe. His expertise includes infrastructure improvement, human capital development, and organizational capacity building. These focused efforts have consistently resulted in enhanced client capabilities and operational success.
Ben earned a Global MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management (2015), a BS from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Architecture from Princeton University, where he was awarded the prestigious William Norton Prize. He began his military career in 2002 as an Engineer Officer with the 101st Airborne Division.
His military service includes roles of increasing responsibility and impact. As the Chief Operations Officer at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and served as a FEMA-qualified Crisis Action Team Leader for the Monterey Peninsula. Earlier, as Commander of SFODA 5122 in the 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Ben led elite Green Beret teams in unconventional warfare and counterinsurgency missions across the Middle East. During this time, he cultivated enduring partnerships with foreign militaries, enhancing operational efficiencies and strengthening local security frameworks.
Today, Ben brings a unique blend of precision, strategic insight, and technical expertise to his role at WoodSyn. His leadership drives innovative, sustainable construction practices, advancing the company’s mission to create resilient and environmentally conscious building solutions.
